In Chile, Garrigues advises 18 of the region’s largest financial institutions. The ranking also highlights the firm’s particular popularity among the major local Chilean banks.
In Colombia, Garrigues advises 18 of the largest banks in Latin America, twice as many as the second-ranked firm. The ranking also spotlights the firm’s role in advising lenders in the area of infrastructure project financing, a highly active sector last year.
In Mexico, Garrigues is the go-to firm for 16 of the leading banks, most of which are regional. The report underlines “Garrigues’ prowess as a truly regional law firm, drawing banking work from financial institutions from across Latin America”.
In Peru, Garrigues also topped the table with the most financial institutions among its clientele. The firm advises 20 of Latin America’s largest banks, cementing Garrigues’ position as the firm of choice in the financial sector.
The specific banking sector list complements the general ranking recently published by LACCA and Latin Lawyer looking at which law firms advise the 100 largest companies in Latin America.
