Miguel Angel joined Garrigues Mexico in 2014 and he currently is Counsel of the Labor Department. He is specialized in Labor Law, Data Protection and Compliance in Mexico, and he also has remarkable experience in commercial law. He advises domestic and multinational companies in those fields. Besides Spanish, his native language, Miguel Angel speaks English fluently and has good knowledge of French. He obtained his bachelor's degree form the Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City and a Master in Labor Law at the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City.
Experience
He has focused his practice in labor matters for private and publicly traded companies, including individual contracting, employment regulations, termination of labor relationships, collective labor relationships and negotiations, as well as due diligence reviews.
Miguel Angel has broad experience advising several multinational companies in preparing, implementing and socializing regulatory compliance programs and data protection regulations.
He also has broad experience in international and domestic transactions, M&A, financial and real estate transactions, as well as civil and commercial agreements.
He worked for the Mexican firm Romo Paillés, S.C., and for the firm Creel, García-Cuéllar Aiza y Enríquez, S.C. Miguel Ángel is coauthor of the Mexican chapter of the book “International Commercial Arbitration in Latin America (and Spain). Legal framework and Court Precedents”. Madrid, 2009, Editorial La Ley, presented at the 2010 Annual Meeting of the International Bar Association.
Academic background
Graduated as a lawyer from the Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City.
He has also studies on tax law (Escuela Libre de Derecho).
Graduated from the Master in Labor Law at the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City.
