Chambers recognizes Fernando Vives, executive chairman of Garrigues, for his leadership and contribution to the legal profession in Europe
Fernando Vives, executive chairman of Garrigues, has received the Chambers Europe Award for his outstanding contribution to the legal profession. The international directory Chambers and Partners bestows the exclusive Outstanding Contribution Award on the most influential lawyers in the profession who are also leaders in their respective practice areas. This year, for the first time in the history of the awards, the ceremony was held in Madrid, bringing together lawyers from the most prestigious firms in 20 European countries.
Fernando Vives thanked Chambers for the distinction, as well as his colleagues at Garrigues. During his 30-year career at the firm, he directed the Corporate/Commercial Law Department for nearly a decade. Since 2009, he has been at the helm of the firm, driving key projects for Garrigues’ expansion in Latin America and for the firm’s digital transformation.
Fernando Vives is one of the most active commercial and corporate lawyers in the European legal sector. He has broad experience in mergers and acquisitions, securities markets and corporate governance. In recent years, he has participated in many of the biggest deals in Europe and advised some of the largest listed Spanish companies.
