COVID-19: Spanish Customs Department updates information note on controls on imports of personal protective equipment, masks and other medical supplies

The Spanish Customs Department has published a new note NI GA 08/2020 (click here for the information note) concerning border controls on imports of personal protective equipment, masks and other medical supplies, which replaces the previously issued note (NI GA O7/2020) and which we already summarized in our alert of March 26, 2020 (click here for our previous alert), to clarify doubts regarding its application.
Specifically, the note refers to what is known as the FARMIN control of these kinds of products, which is overseen by the Spanish Drug and Medical Device Agency, as well as to their import declaration procedure, distinguishing between medical and non-medical devices.
