Garrigues doubly awarded in London as Spain tax disputes firm and Spain indirect tax firm of the year
The publication International Tax Review granted two awards to Garrigues in the context of the EMEA Tax Awards
Garrigues has been doubly recognized as firm of the year in Spain in the categories of tax disputes and indirect tax. The publication International Tax Review (ITR), which covers tax news from firms across the globe, has granted these awards in the context of the EMEA Tax Awards, held yesterday in London and attended by the most noteworthy European firms and lawyers in the tax field.
In the history of these awards, founded in 2005, Garrigues has consolidated its position as the firm that has won the most awards in the tax field in the Spanish and Portuguese market and as one of the stand-out firms at European level. In this edition, Garrigues has again displayed its leadership by securing two of the four categories targeted at Spain.
Garrigues’ Tax Department holds a significant position in the firm. It accounts for over 30% of the firm’s overall billings and has the largest team of tax experts in Spain, with a presence in 18 cities and experts in 20 specialties. Its leadership enables it to regularly advise on the largest deals in the market, as well as on major legal disputes before the Spanish and European courts, which are setting precedents for taxpayers.
These two awards come on the heels of other significant distinctions that Garrigues has received this year in the tax field as Tax Firm of the Year in Spain in the Expansión Jurídico Awards and Firm of the Year in Portugal by the publication Best Lawyers.
