Garrigues named International Firm of the Year at the Legal Business Awards
Competing against law firms from across the world, it is the only European law firm to have won the award twice
Garrigues has been named International Firm of the Year at the annual awards held by UK publication Legal Business, one of the most prestigious in the legal sector. Competing against the best firms operating in Continental Europe, Latin America, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and Africa, it is the only European law firm to have won this accolade twice.
The award looks at important aspects such as strategy, management and client service. In considering Garrigues, the Legal Business judges highlighted the firm’s international strategy and its dual multinational and multi-local focus, with international offices accounting for 13% of total revenues, led by Portugal and Latin America, the firm’s two largest markets after Spain. The publication also took into account Garrigues’ excellent overall performance, with revenues of €443.2 million and the highest growth, in absolute terms, in the firm’s history. Moreover, recognition was given to the firm’s robust transactional activity, with Garrigues leading the Iberian market at year-end by number of deals (TTR, 2022).
In management terms, the award also acknowledges the progress made by Garrigues on two strategic fronts: the digitalization of the firm, with €60 million invested over the past five years, and the firm’s ESG commitment, under the Garrigues Sustainable brand.
