M&A expert Andrés Ordóñez Rizo joins Garrigues’ Bogotá office
Lawyer Andrés Ordóñez Rizo joined Garrigues’ Bogotá office as counsel in October. He has extensive experience, gained over more than sixteen years, representing multinationals in Latin America in cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
Andrés Ordóñez has guided local and international private equity funds in connection with the purchase of assets in Latin American and advised Colombian companies on the acquisition of foreign businesses. He has also provided advice on banking and finance matters, representing clients in the issuance of debt securities on the international markets and in transactions involving syndicated and cross-border loans.
During his professional career, he has worked at prestigious law firms in Colombia (such as Gómez Pinzón-Zuleta) and renowned international firms (at the New York office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP served as senior associate and also worked in the Washington D.C. office of Arnold & Porter LLP). He also served as in-house counsel for the investment banking division of Corporación Financiera del Valle (Corfivalle).
Andrés is a qualified lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and holds a degree in commercial law from Universidad de los Andes and an LL.M. in securities and financial regulation from Georgetown University. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and in Colombia.
