The Mexican Government publishes the calls for public tenders for the concession of five Development Poles in the Interoceanic Corridor of the Tehuantepec Isthmus

Interested parties must send to the CIIT from June 26 to 30, 2023 a pre-registration form, a no conflict of interest form, and a document evidencing experience and capacity in the operation and maintenance of industrial plants in the productive vocations designated by the government.

The Inter-Oceanic Corridor is a strip of land running along the Tehuantepec Isthmus (southeastern Mexico) and connecting the Pacific Ocean with the Gulf of Mexico. Railroads, roads, gas pipelines, highways, seaports, airports, refineries and other infrastructure are being built in the region, making it attractive for the establishment of productive investments.

On June 20, 2023, the Mexican Government published five calls for public tenders to obtain concession titles for a two years-term, extendable under certain conditions, for the use, development and exploitation -with the possibility of acquisition- of land located at the Interoceanic Corridor of the Tehuantepec Isthmus (CIIT). The land is under the federal government public domain regime.

As we reported in a previous alert, the Mexican government will grant tax incentives to companies deciding to establish or relocate productive facilities at these Development Poles which include the following:

Interested parties wishing to have more information about the bidding processes and participate in the public tenders must send to the CIIT from June 26 to 30, 2023: (i) a pre-registration form, (ii) a no conflict of interest form, and (iii) a document evidencing experience and capacity in the operation and maintenance of industrial plants in the productive vocations designated by the government and to which the tax incentives will be applicable.

The CIIT will hold an orientation session with the interested parties on July 26 and 27, 2023. 

The terms and conditions to participate are detailed in the bidding guidelines, which may required from July 31 to August 4, 2023 and will have a cost of MX$1,000,000.00 (one million Pesos 00/100 M.N. or US$58,122 approximately).
