Start of public consultation period on new environmental taxes

Two prior publication consultations on new taxes have been posted on the Ministry of Finance’s website. The deadline for submitting comments was March 14, 2020.
The new taxes submitted for this public comment phase are:
- A tax that is levied on single-use plastic items used to contain or protect foodstuffs or products.
- A tax that is levied on the use of air transport.
