
Alfredo began his professional career in 2009 at a noted local firm and went on to work in a public notary’s office, providing services on corporate and real estate matters. In 2012 he joined the Real Estate, Infrastructure and Hospitality practice of Sánchez Devanny, specializing in providing advice to Mexican and international companies on all types of real estate transactions, including leasing, property acquisition, construction of industrial buildings, as well as commercial, residential and hotel projects. He has broad experience in the energy, oil and gas sector gained from the study of constitutional reforms in Mexico, the provision of advice to foreign companies on energy projects, and having spoken at various conferences in this field.
Experience
Alfredo Villarreal Hansmann is a principal associate in the Real Estate and Corporate & M&A practices.
Over the course of his professional career, he has represented the world’s leading retailer of beauty products in Mexico, managing all of its real estate leases, contracts for services and supply contracts. He has also advised the world’s leading clothing retailer on the negotiation of real estate lease agreements and project contracts in Mexico.
Alfredo has experience in the planning, structuring and implementation of real estate trusts for the development and sale of residential complexes in various beach areas of Mexico, working with foreign investors on high impact projects. He participated in the US$80 million acquisition of a Mexican flexible packaging company by a Dutch company.
He has advised international companies on the due diligence review, negotiation and acquisition of property for the construction of industrial plants at multiple industrial parks in Mexico. He also structured and negotiated a joint venture agreement for an iconic hotel in Mexico, and prepared the legal structure and investment vehicles for real estate projects in Texas worth US$25 million apiece.
He represented a U.S. company in its investment in several gold and barite mining projects in Mexico. He also led the drafting and negotiation of key documents for a tourism and condominium development in Mexico, including commitments, conditions and restrictions.
In the energy sector, he has assisted foreign companies in conventional and renewable projects, advising on due diligence processes, joint ventures and tenders, and in the drafting of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts, independent power producer (IPP) contracts, operation and maintenance (O&M) contracts and power purchase agreements (PPA).
Alfredo is fluent in Spanish and English.
