Daniel González Pila is a partner in the Banking and Finance, Corporate Law and Commercial Contracts practices and specializes in the financial institutions industry.
He has a wealth of expertise in providing legal advice on commercial, corporate and contractual matters and on mergers and acquisitions, but has spent the majority of his career advising clients on banking and finance transactions, both within Spain and with respect to pan-European and multijurisdictional financing transactions. In particular, he has participated in bilateral and syndicated financing transactions in various sectors, advising borrowers and sponsors as well as financial institutions oe direct lenders on a wide variety of structures, from corporate or asset acquisition financing to project finance, real estate financing, loan-to-loan finance, financing of media productions, refinancing or restructuring of financial debt, and transactions to raise funds through the capital markets by issuing high-yield bonds listed on the Euro MTF (Luxembourg).
In recent years, he has also advised on transactions for the assignment of debt portfolios (NPLs) by financial institutions, assisting both domestic and foreign credit institutions looking to sell and investment funds specializing in the acquisition of these assets, as well as on transfers of secured and unsecured debt.
He also acts as secretary or deputy secretary in corporate matters for various multinationals and investment funds present in Spain.
He was a finalist in the 6th Young Jurists Awards (promoted by Fundación Garrigues and Universidad de Derecho de Navarra) in 2006.

Degree in law, Universidad de Barcelona and Master’s Degree in International Business Law, Faculty of Law, Universidad Ramón Llull (ESADE).
Teaching activity
He lectured at ESCI (Escuela Superior de Comercio Internacional) for the Master in International Business and Master in International Management and has also taught at the Barcelona Bar Association (Course on Banking Contracts), as well as at ESADE, in the Master in International Business Law. He has also participated in conferences, such as the Garrigues - ICADE Chair on Modernization of Corporate Law.
He currently teaches at ISDE in the Master in International Law and the Master in International Law, Foreign Trade and International Relations.
