
Daniel has extensive experience in tax matters, advising national and foreign clients from various industries, mainly in tax disputes arising from audits and refund requests processed before state and federal authorities. Previously, he collaborated in the Federal Court of Administrative Justice and in renowned Mexican firms specializing in tax matters, which led him to become involved in complex litigation and administrative proceedings before the Mexican Tax Advocate, the Tax Administration Service, the aforementioned Federal Court of Administrative Justice, the District Courts, the Collegiate Circuit Courts and the National Supreme Court of Justice, among others.
Experience
Daniel Omar García González is a senior associate in the Tax practice. He advised a Mexican multinational in the sale of its beer manufacturing division to a Dutch company, which gave rise to litigation related to the payment of income tax that involved extensive negotiations with the federal tax authorities.
He also formed part of the team that advised a Taiwanese multinational that acquired an industrial plant in Saltillo, Coahuila, which resulted in litigation regarding the lawfulness of the value added tax deducted on expenses incurred.
Daniel also advised a US multinational operating in different regions of Mexico, in relation to the application of the tax stimulus of the northern border region, where the Tax Administration Service determined tax debts that led to an in-depth analysis of the interpretation of the stimulus and the lawfulness of applying it.
Daniel is a native Spanish speaker and has a good command of English.
