Francisco Martínez is a lawyer in the Madrid office and has been a partner in the Corporate/Commercial Law Department in Spain since 2009. His areas of expertise include corporate law, M&A and private equity, both from the perspective of fundraising and the acquisition of stakes in funds. He is one of the members of the Firm’s Private Equity group.
He is a specialist in private equity, an area in which he has amassed extensive experience in the design and implementation of projects for the establishment of private equity, venture capital, funds of funds and debt vehicles, and also provides advice on numerous funds-based investment transactions, providing him with a comprehensive overview of the industry. He has participated in some of the largest projects for the establishment of private equity vehicles to take place in Spain in recent years.
He has also been involved in a great number of M&A transactions and reorganizations in Spain across a range of industries (industrial, private equity and venture capital) and structures (buy outs with and without leverage, auctions, sale and purchase of businesses, investment rounds, etc.).
Francisco Martínez has a wealth of experience in providing legal advice to companies, including on corporate reorganizations, and he serves as Board Secretary to numerous companies and multinational groups operating in various industries.
He also specializes in matters such as the preparation of family business protocols, advice on national and international joint ventures, shareholder disputes, processes for the withdrawal of shareholders and, in general, the provision of on-going commercial advice to family groups and high net worth clients. He is member of the Firm´s Family Business Group.

Degree in Law and in Economics and Business, Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE E-3).
Teaching activity
He regularly lectures at Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE). He is also a regular speaker at seminars, courses and conferences.
