Iñigo holds a PhD in Law from the University of Deusto and has extensive experience in handling criminal matters, especially those related to the world of business and economics, such as crimes against property and the socio-economic order (fraud, misappropriation, breach of trust, frustration of enforcement and punishable insolvency, offenses relating to industrial or intellectual property, offenses against the market and consumers), tax and social security offenses, offenses against the environment and regional planning, corporate offenses, counterfeiting offenses, offenses against public administrations and offenses relating to occupational risk prevention.
In addition, Iñigo specializes in providing criminal legal advice to legal entities, this having been the main subject of his doctoral thesis.

Iñigo Zapatero joined Garrigues in July 2021, having previously practiced at the Bilbao criminal law firm Urraza & Mendieta Abogados.
