Irene González is a partner in the Tax Law Department of Garrigues, in Malaga, where she has developed her professional career after working for Arthur Andersen, Asesores Legales y Tributarios after completing her university studies in 1996.

She is a specialist in Tax Law and Partner in charge of the Tax Litigation speciality in the Southern Area of Garrigues, forming part of the working group assigned to the national Tax Litigation specialisation line of Garrigues.

Within the scope of her specialisation in tax law, she provides recurring advice to major business groups and companies in her geographical area, belonging to various sectors of activity (finance, tourism, concessions, technology, real estate, etc.), as well as to foundations, bringing in Garrigues professionals specialising in any area of law that may be required at any given time, offering a service tailored to the needs of her clients and/or the matter in question.

Within the scope of her specialisation in Tax Litigation, she handles complex tax proceedings in tax matters (state, regional and local), also advising on verification and investigation procedures initiated by the Tax Authorities.

Irene is an honorary lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Law and Business Administration of the University of Malaga, collaborates with the ESESA IMF Business School and is a member of the Tax Law section of the Malaga Bar Association, of which she has been the coordinator for several years.

Irene is also an active participant in various seminars and conferences on taxation, in the field of her specialisation.

Irene was named "Lawyer of the year 2014" in the category Tax Law, Malaga, by the international directory Best Lawyers, and is part of this directory of lawyers in Spain named Best Lawyers from 2012 onwards.
