Isabel Pascual de Quinto is counsel in the Intellectual Property department. She has extensive experience in providing advice on trademarks; industrial designs; patents; copyright; unfair competition and advertising.
She specializes in cross-border litigation related to trademark matters. She has over twenty years’ experience in advising businesses in relation to counterfeiting and piracy before customs.
She also provides ongoing advisory services in the above-mentioned areas, both pre-litigation (drafting C&D letters and settlement agreements), as well as in court (proceedings in connection with the infringement or validity of IP rights before the civil, commercial and criminal courts); including cases before the General Court of EU in Luxembourg.
She also regularly gives training courses on Industrial Property Infringement, both to companies in the private sector and to the law enforcement agencies.
Isabel has been singled out as one of the leading lawyers in the Intellectual Property: Trademarks category of the prestigious directory The Legal 500.

Experience
Isabel specialises in trademark law, advising on both the registration of rights and the overall strategy that allows companies to optimise their protection and maximise their investment. She has extensive experience in court proceedings with implications in different territories and is an expert in the filing of pan-European lawsuits that allow the trademark holder to stop an infringement throughout the EU with a single lawsuit.
She participates in Garrigues' Fashion group due to her extensive experience advising companies involved in the fashion, design, crafts and luxury industries. The extensive network of Garrigues in Spain, Portugal and Latin America has enabled her to coordinate the defence that these companies have needed in those territories, for example, on the adoption of customs measures in defense of intellectual property rights.
Isabel advises both in the registration of rights and in the global strategy that allows companies to optimise their protection and maximise their investment. She also has extensive experience in drafting rights assignment and licensing agreements, as well as confidentiality, technology transfer and research collaboration agreements.
She is also a member of the Family Business group in which she provides advice in conflicts arising from the ownership of rights (mainly trademarks), following initial registrations carried out by individuals belonging to the same family.

Teaching activity
She lectures on the Master´s Degree in Business Law at Centro de Estudios Garrigues, and on the Master’s Degree in Business Management of the Luxury Goods and Fashion Industry.
She is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences, among others. Her presentation at the Round Table Legal implications of marketing and advertising through influencers for the Summer Courses organized by the University of Malaga should be highlighted and also her participation in the fashion event organized by DENAE, at the Clothing Museum, giving the paper Counterfeits and copies. How to solve conflicts in this area. She participated as speaker at the XIV Jornadas del Tribunal de Marcas de la Unión Europea (European Union trade mark Court), 21-22 November 2019, regarding the procedural exception of lack of use in trademark infringement claims (Intervening rights); including at the conference R&D&I and industrial property as the driving force of business competition, in which she discussed Protecting innovation: Patents and Know-how.
She also participated as speaker at the IV Foro Aranzadi de Derecho de Propiedad Industrial, in relation to the business perspective of influencers and brands (1 October 2020).
Her participation in the conference organized by the Madrid Bar Association, in which she gave a paper on Designs. A growing trend. Relevant cases should also be underscored. He has recently participated in the I Retail and Franchising Congress, organized by the Madrid Bar Association, in relation to "The protection of intangibles in the retail sector".
She has also participated as a speaker at several Digital Fashion and Metaverse Conferences organised by La Tecnocreativa, the last one regarding Generative IA. She has recently joined as a teacher.
She has participated in the I Retail and Franchising Congress, organised by the Madrid Bar Association, in relation to "The protection of intangibles in the retail sector". He was also a speaker at the 1st Industrial Property Forum organized by ANDEMA and the SPTO to discuss the new administrative procedure for applying for the invalidity and revocation of Spanish trademarks.
