José Pedro Fernández-Casas Summers has been a partner in Garrigues’ Tax Department since 2008, having joined the firm in 1997. He specializes in tax law and has a wealth of experience in tax procedure and the taxation of the banking sector.

José Pedro Fernández-Casas Summers has been a partner in the Tax Department of Garrigues since 2008, the firm where he has mainly pursued his professional career and which he joined in 1997 following a nearly five-year stint at a local firm in Granada after preparing for the official exams for the senior corps of state tax inspectors. He specializes in tax law and has a wealth of experience in tax procedure and the taxation of the banking sector.
Among other fields, he has expertise in the taxation of credit cooperatives, having advised entities in this industry for over 25 years.
He also has broad experience in advising companies in the alcoholic beverages sector on matters relating to excise and special taxes.
In the area of tax procedures and litigation, he stands out for his knowledge of and experience in the conduct of tax inspections, as well as in the case management of numerous appeals in the administrative, economic-administrative and judicial review jurisdictions. He also assists with technical support in criminal proceedings involving offenses against the public treasury.
He has been a member of the Granada Bar Association since 1997.
