Luis Enrique Mata Palacios is a principal associate in the Corporate Law practice group of the Madrid office of Garrigues, which he joined in 2014. He is specialized in commercial contracts, M&A, private equity and venture capital.
During his professional career, he has been involved in multiple M&A, private equity, venture capital, acquisition finance and project finance transactions, advising Spanish and international clients from a wide array of sectors, including, among others, financial services, energy, IT and infrastructure. In his practice, he also advises international and domestic funds and companies on multiple transactions and at different stages of the investment cycle. He has also relevant experience advising on private fund transactions.
As a result of his training in common law and international background (LL.M and member of the NY Bar Association), he has gained extensive experience advising MNEs and global financial groups in their investments and operations in Spain and abroad.
In September 2023, Luis Enrique began his secondment at the New York office of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, as a visiting lawyer, rejoining Garrigues in 2024. During this year his practice focused on M&A and private equity transactions.
