María Caño Cadahía is principal associate in the Mergers and Acquisitions, Securities Law and Commercial Contracts and Corporate practice in the Madrid office.
She has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, as well as specialising in providing recurring and corporate governance advice to listed companies.

Experience
María is principal associate in Garrigues' Corporate Department since 2022, having joined the firm in 2011.
Between September 2014 and December 2015, María worked in Garrigues' New York office advising on numerous cross-border transactions, particularly US investments in Spain.
Her areas of expertise are as follows:
- Mergers & Acquisitions: she regularly advises on international transactions including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and other corporate restructuring processes in the technology, retail and transportation sectors.
- Securities Market: specialises in complex securities market transactions and corporate governance of listed companies, providing recurring advice on these matters to numerous companies, including IBEX-35 companies.
- Commercial Contracts and Corporate Law: she provides recurring advice on board secretarial and contracting matters to both listed and unlisted companies.
She also participates on a recurring basis in the Garrigues Chair in Modernisation of Company Law in collaboration with the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas.
