
María Paula is a senior associate of the Corporate practice in the Garrigues office in Bogotá. She holds more than 14 years of professional experience. Her experience is focused on contractual and corporate law. She has extensive experience advising national and multinational companies in the compliance of legal obligations in Colombia, in the negotiation of highly complex contracts and in corporate matters, including the structuring of investment vehicles as well as corporate governance schemes.
She is an attorney from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, has a major in business law from the same university and an LL.M with honors from Northwestern University in Chicago.
Experience
María Paula's experience is mainly focused in advising clients in the choice of investment vehicles to operate in Colombia, transfers of shares and quotas, capital increase and decrease, amendments to the bylaws, corporate bodies decisions, shareholder agreements, corporate restructuring operations and winding-up of companies, structuring of corporate governance schemes, among others. In contractual matters, she has extensive experience in the drafting and negotiation of highly complex commercial contracts, and in the structuring and implementation of collaboration and intermediation schemes.
Before joining Garrigues' Bogotá office, María Paula worked for more than 10 years in one of the most prestigious law firms in Colombia.
