Marina Lorente joined Garrigues in 2000 and is a senior associate in the Restructuring and Insolvency Department.
Coming from the Litigation and Arbitration Department, she has extensive experience in insolvency proceedings, having participated in the handling of insolvency proceedings of notorious importance in Spain. Her experience also includes advising creditors on the recovery of their claims both in the contentious phase and in the debtor's pre-insolvency phase.
Marina's expertise in the following specific areas should be highlighted:
- Design of structures for the sale or acquisition of production units, through Pre-pack mechanisms.
- Handling insolvency proceedings of natural persons and obtaining the Fresh Start
- Claw-back actions in insolvency proceedings
- Advising on the qualification stage of insolvency proceedings and on directors liability
- Drawing up and implementation of restructuring plans and communications of opening of negotiations
Her generalist training, her international profile and her experience in all areas of Law allowed Marina to undertake a 6-month legal secondment from Garrigues in 2019 as Assistant to General Counsel at the Spanish headquarters of one of the world's largest international consultancy firms. During this secondment, Marina mainly advised on contractual matters.
Committed to the internal training of the restructuring and insolvency area, Marina is responsible for the technical sessions of the practice at national level at Garrigues and actively collaborates in the firm's internal anti-money laundering processes.
Marina is a member of the Tourism and Hotels and Family Business industries at Garrigues.
