Marta López-Brea Prous is a principal associate in the commercial law practice at Garrigues, where she has worked since 1997. She has extensive experience in securitisations, as well as in other types of structured transactions (structured bonds, financial derivatives, project finance, project bonds, corporate finance) and other banking transactions. In line with this experience, it has participated in many of the most innovative securitisation and structured finance transactions carried out in Spain in recent years, which has been recognised by various national and international publications.
Experience
Marta López-Brea Prous is a principal associate in Garrigues' Corporate/Commercial Law practice since 2012.
She has extensive experience in asset securitisations (CMBS, ABS, securitisation of NPLs and other assets), a practice in which she has been working since 1997, and has participated in numerous domestic and international transactions since then, including the setting up of more than 75 securitisation funds since the implementation of Spanish securitisation regulations in 2015. It also has extensive experience in other types of structured transactions (direct lending, project finance, structured bonds and financial derivatives).
In line with this experience, it has been participating in many of the most innovative securitisation and structured finance transactions carried out in Spain in recent years, which has been recognised by various national and international publications, including:
- The first securitisations under the new Securitisation Regulation, including the first STS transactions in Spain and SRTs in Spain and Europe, including, among others, the Sabadell Consumo I transaction, which received the award for the best securitisation in Europe by IFR.
- The first transactions of non-performing assets (NPLs) carried out in Spain, both with foreign and Spanish vehicles.
- The creation of an innovative pan-European direct lending platform, as well as other structured finance operations and direct lending platforms for different clients.
- The first operations of securitisation funds by compartments in Spain.
Academic background
Law degree, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, majoring in business law (CEU San Pablo).
