Miguel Cortes Martins is a senior associate in the EU and Competition Law Department of Garrigues, where he practices in the areas of competition law, European Union, e-commerce, unfair competition and other restrictive trade practices. He has extensive experience in competition law sanctions and litigation proceedings, as well as in providing strategic advice to companies, drafting compliance programmes and merger control procedures.

Before joining Garrigues, Miguel Cortes Martins worked as a Legal Counsel in the Restrictive Practices Department of the Portuguese Competition Authority between 2017 and 2021, having started his professional career, as a trainee lawyer, at the law firm Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles & Soares da Silva (currently MLGTS).
