
Montserrat obtained a Degree in Law, graduating with honors, from Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes, and has over 7 years of legal experience in litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. Her professional background is characterized by excellence, particularly in serving clients' needs, with a focus on a precise understanding of commercial operations and swift resolution of disputes.
Montserrat excels in representing both national and international companies before national courts and in arbitration proceedings. Her outstanding achievements include recognition in the 14th edition of "The Best Lawyers in Mexico” for Corporate Law, and she holds a specialization in indirect constitutional protection (“amparo indirecto”) proceedings from Centro de Enseñanza Jonia.
Montserrat recently completed the Specialized Course in International Arbitration at Escuela de Arbitraje Arbanza. Monserrat Abogado is a senior associate in the Dispute Resolution: Litigation & Arbitration practice.
She has a notable track record in negotiations, representation and advice on complex financial, commercial and corporate transactions.
She has extensive experience in structuring financing arrangements, including the negotiation of an irrevocable trust for the administration, guarantee and source of payment of Mex$150 million in favor of a Mexican company.
Montserrat has represented important international clients, such as a German automotive company, in disputes related to vehicle warranty claims by her clients. She has also advised on international supplies of perishable foods, facilitating the collection of debts between companies from Chile and Mexico.
She provides strategic advice in highly complex litigation, such as the successful defense of a Mexican construction company in a case of double deed of land valued at approximately Mex$50 million each, achieving favorable results.
She also represented a company engaged in construction project financing in the recovery of a Mex$75 million debt, securing the reversal of around 300 land sale and purchase transactions to guarantee the claim.
In the context of arbitration, she successfully defended a client in a corporate dispute derived from a sale and purchase of shares with floating pledge, achieving the non-application of the compensation claimed by the buyer and protecting the interests of her client.
