
Oziel specializes in litigation, arbitration, and commercial bankruptcy proceedings. His experience includes the resolution of disputes relating to construction, international sale of goods, trusts, distribution, banking and corporate governance.
He has been assistant teacher of the arbitration module on the LL.M. in Business Law at Facultad Libre de Derecho de Monterrey (2022), as well as the modules on International Private Law and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods on the LL.M. in Corporate Law at Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon.
Experience
Oziel López Garza is an associate in the Dispute Resolution: Litigation and Arbitration practice. His experience includes having represented a Mexican consortium engaged in production of chemical materials in an international arbitration administered by the ICC against its contractor for breach of the turnkey EPC. He also participated in the defense of U.S. company in an international arbitration managed by CANACO (Mexico City Chamber of Commerce), in which a distributor claimed damages for recission of a distribution agreement.
He also represented a German distributor of iron consumables in an ICC administrative commercial arbitration against the purchaser, due to failure to pay the purchase price.
He was administrative Secretary in an arbitration administered by the CAM (Arbitration Center of Mexico).
He also represented a Mexican bank in judicial proceedings to recover a claim against a real estate company and a listed company engaged in the manufacture and sale of furniture.
He has represented and advised a foreign bank in judicial proceedings to recover a claim against a consortium engaged in clothing production and retailing, as well as the bankruptcy petition.
