Massification of the use of natural gas in central and southern Peru
Area:Oil & gasLocation: The project is located in Peru’s central and southern sierra and the southern forest, in the departments of Apurímac, Ayacucho, Huancavelica, Junín, Cusco, Puno and Ucayali.
Object: Concession for the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of a natural gas transport network running through the towns of Andahuaylas, Abancay, Huamanga, Huanta, Huancavelica, Huancayo, Jauja, Cusco, Quillabamba, Juliaca, Puno and Pucallpa, in the regions of Apurímac, Ayacucho, Huancavelica, Junín, Cusco, Puno and Ucayali and related installations.
Financial structure: Self-financed project.
Value of the investment: Approximately US$ 200 million (without VAT).
Term: Thirty-two (32) years.
Title-holder of the concessioned activity: Ministry of Energy and Mining (MINEM).
Status of process: The bidders are (i) Gas Natural de Lima y Callao S.A. (Cálidda), (ii) Consorcio Waspi Perú, integrated by LNG Holding S.A.C. and China Gezhouba Group Company Limited Sucursal Perú, and (iii) Yacimientos Ptrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB). It is estimated to be awarded in the first semester of 2020.
