Chile sets new maximum base for calculating 2019 social security contributions

As from January 9, 2019, the new maximum monthly base for calculating health, retirement and occupational accident and professional illness social security contributions stands at 79.3 Unidades de Fomento (UF) (US $3,250). The new maximum monthly base for unemployment insurance for 2019 was set at 119 UF (US $4,900).
These new base limits must be applied as from payment of social security contributions corresponding to salary payments for January 2019. These contributions must be paid by February 11, 2019, or by February 13, 2019 if paid electronically.
