Russian arbitration Council recommends HKIAC to be licensed in Russia
Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) is to become the first foreign arbitral institution licensed to administer cases in Russia after receiving approval from the regulatory body, the Russian Council for the Development of Arbitration.
CIArb issues witness conferencing guidelines
The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators has issued guidelines on witness conferencing in international arbitration, a growing trend involving the process by which two or more witnesses give evidence concurrently before a tribunal.
Cairo Centre releases case-load statistics
The Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) and the LCIA have released caseload figures for 2018.
Stockholm Chamber of Commerce provides case e-platform for its arbitrations
Starting September 2019, all SCC arbitrations will have access to a case platform where the SCC, the parties and the tribunal can share case-related documents, such as communication with the SCC, procedural orders, submissions and exhibits. This shall eliminate the need to share sensitive or bulky files and documents by email or other channels.

- Partner Joe Tirado (London) was a panelist at the inaugural session of the London International Disputes Week looking at London as a dispute resolution hub for international parties held in London on 7 May 2019. Joe also spoke on Interplay Between Arbitral Tribunals and State Courts during the Arbitral Proceedings – How to Find the Right Balance? at the 15th International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI) Biennial Conference in Helsinki, on 22 May 2019.
- Partner Carlos de los Santos (Madrid) gave the inaugural speech at the Open de Arbitraje hosted in Madrid by the Asociación Europea de Arbitraje on 9 May 2019.
- Partners Joao Duarte de Souza (Lisbon) and Joe Tirado (London) spoke at client seminar on international arbitration and ADR hosted by Garrigues in Lisbon on 17 May 2019.

- The 5th edition of Global Legal Insights to International Arbitration, Global Legal Group has just been published. The series covers over 60 jurisdictions which are accessible for free at this website. Joe Tirado (London) is the Contributing Editor and author of the chapter on England & Wales.
