Spain Labor and Employment Law Alert
The Decision of October 7, 2022, by the Directorate-General of Labor, publishing the list of public holidays for 2023 has been published in the Official State Gazette, and sets out the public holidays for next year.
The following days, which are remunerated and non-recoverable, will be public holidays throughout Spain:
- Friday April 7th (Good Friday)
- Monday May 1st (Labor Day)
- Tuesday August 15th (Feast of the Assumption)
- Thursday October 12th (National Day of Spain)
- Wednesday November 1st (All Saints’ Day)
- Wednesday December 6th (Day of the Spanish Constitution)
- Friday December 8th (Immaculate Conception)
- Monday, December 25th (Christmas Day)
In addition to these national public holidays, the autonomous communities have their own public holidays, which are set out in the calendar attached to the decision (they include January 6th, which all of the autonomous communities have designated as a public holiday).
The municipal councils will also add their own local public holidays.
