In 1973, the New York office became the firm’s first office outside Spain, making Garrigues the first European law firm to open for business in the US.
The New York practice fundamentally focuses on two aspects. We advise our US and Canadian clients on Spanish law in relation to commercial and tax matters, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, finance, restructuring and the securities markets, as well as on investment planning.
We also accompany the firm’s clients in the initial stages of their investments in the US and Canada. From the New York office we provide advisory services on corporate, commercial and business law matters, coordinating the work of our allies in the US and other leading local firms specializing in particularly complex deals, tax law, securities markets, banking and regulated sectors, among others.
The Garrigues offices in Colombia, Peru, Mexico and Chile provide an integral platform our clients can use to gain access to Latin America, an added advantage our competitors are unable to offer.
