Alejandra is a senior associate in the Corporate/Commercial Law Department of Garrigues in Madrid, and works on corporate law and M&A matters in a wide range of sectors and industries. She specializes in private equity and distressed M&A deals (she forms part of the Investment Funds team), mainly advising Spanish and international investment funds. She also provides recurring advisory services on corporate law and contractual matters to Spanish companies and international groups present in Spain and has participated in several financing and refinancing transactions. Alejandra was based at the New York office between December 2021 and December 2022.

Experience
Alejandra is a senior associate in the Corporate/Commercial Law Department of Garrigues, having joined the firm in 2015. Since then, she has participated in a wide range of complex transactions, including:
- Transactions for the acquisition and sale of companies and businesses, both in competitive and bilateral processes;
- Transactions for the acquisition of business units in insolvency proceedings;
- Joint ventures and other types of strategic investment agreements;
- Domestic and cross-border mergers;
- Corporate restructuring;
- Financing and refinancing transactions.
She is also member of the Distressed M&A – Investment Funds team, providing recurring advice to international funds and other operators in the distressed market on non-performing loan and REO portfolio sales, including secondary transactions.
She also provides recurring advisory services on corporate law and contractual matters to Spanish companies and international groups present in Spain.
Over her professional career, Alejandra has advised multiple investment funds (including debt funds) and industrial operators, both Spanish and international, and has participated in transactions across a wide range of industries, including financial services, food and consumer products, dental services, retail and IT.
She was based at the Garrigues New York office between December 2021 and December 2022.
Academic background
- Dual Master’s Degree in Business Law (cum laude) and Access to the Legal Profession, Universidad de Navarra.
- Degree in Law and Business Administration, Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE E-3).
- Under the Erasmus program, she studied at École Supérieure des Sciences Économiques et Commerciales (ESSEC) in Paris.
