David Arias is a member of the Administrative Law and Planning and Zoning practices of Garrigues in Madrid, where he has pursued his career since 2001. He has broad expertise in the fields of land planning, zoning and development, and in advising on transactions for the sale and purchase or operation of real estate.

Experience
David Arias is a member of the Administrative Law and Planning and Zoning practices of Garrigues in Madrid, where he has pursued his career since 2001. Over the years, David has advised clients in both the public and private sectors on the different branches of administrative law.
David has broad expertise in the fields of land planning, zoning and development and in advising on transactions for the sale and purchase or operation of real estate.
He also practices in the area of administrative concessions (student and senior residences, road infrastructure, hospitals, integral water cycle, port terminals, etc.), where he has advised both the public authorities and the private managers and/or finance providers on all aspects of projects (public tenders, procedures for the financial readjustment of contracts, price reviews, modification and termination of contracts, etc.).
Arias also practices in the defense sector (supply of military equipment and major arms programs) and the renewable energies sector (wind power and photovoltaic power).
His experience also notably includes advising the public authorities on bids to host major international events, such as the Olympic Games and the Ryder Cup, playing an active role in the design of the administrative structure and the relevant instruments for administrative coordination.
The advisory services provided by David take in everything from the design and implementation of projects and the preparation of due diligence reviews and legal opinions to the case management of appeals in the administrative and judicial review jurisdictions, where he can also boast extensive expertise.
David is a member of the Madrid Bar Association.
