Eloy Castañer is the managing partner of Garrigues' Labor and Employment Department at global level, leading the main team in the European market with more than 200 labor and employment lawyers. He is a member of the firm's management committee and, in addition to his duties as head of the Labour Department, he is a lawyer specialising in labour and social security law, mainly in strategic and particularly complex aspects of labour law, labour relations and people management.
With a degree in EU Law from the Universidad San Pablo - CEU (Madrid) and in Political Sciences from the UNED, with a specialisation in European Union law from the Universidad Complutense and the University of La Sorbonne, he is a lawyer recognised by prestigious directories and has been awarded twice by the International Law Office, in 2018 and 2021, with the international Client Choice Awards as the best lawyer in Spain in the Employment & Benefits category.
Experience
He joined Garrigues in 2001 and has been a partner in the Labor & Employment Department since 2013.
He specializes in providing labor and employment law advice to domestic and multinational companies from a wide range of sectors (technology and consulting firms, industrial, financial, energy, real estate, retail and distribution, among others). He is particularly experienced in defending companies in the labour courts, as well as in advising on issues related to senior management, labour aspects arising from corporate transactions, labour restructuring and collective bargaining.
He advises in Spanish, English and French.
