
Georgina is a lawyer specializing in Environmental Law and ESG matters, with more than 20 years' experience providing consulting and advisory services to companies from various sectors on environmental issues, proposing strategies and structures focused on environmental regulation and compliance, as well as in administrative litigation.
She has participated in numerous operations related to financial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, identifying risks and proposing solutions and strategies relating to the environmental aspects of different projects. She was a partner at Sánchez Devanny and, prior to that, she was in charge of starting up the Environmental Protection Agency of the State of Morelos, acting as the General Attorney. Over her professional career, she has worked at several renowned law firms in Mexico.

Georgina Gutiérrez Barbosa is a partner in the Planning, Zoning and Environment practice. She has extensive experience representing clients in a broad range of sectors, including real estate, manufacturing, mining, tourism, energy, automotive, paper and petrochemical, in relation to environmental, regulatory and transactional matters across Mexico. Her work comprises consulting and legal advisory services in relation to environmental laws, regulations and standards at local, state and national level.
Her practice includes advice on key issues such as environmental impact, environmental planning, environmental risk, change in the use of forest land, emissions, climate change, water management, waste, federal zones, soil remediation and corporate environmental responsibility. Georgina also has experience in identifying environmental risks and opportunities, helping companies comply with regulations while optimizing their business.
Regarding the management of environmental permits, licenses and authorizations, she has handled cases at federal, state and municipal level, consulting on issues with a social impact for different projects. Her experience also includes participating in transactional operations, due diligence processes, contracts and project finance.
