
Jaime Luis is a litigator specializing in employment, performing consultancy and litigation functions. His work includes labor risk assessments, and implementation of systems to adequately handle and reduce risks arising from employment relationships. He has been responsible for drafting, reviewing and updating documents relating to the termination of employment relations, providing support in these processes.
He has also reviewed individual employment contracts and collective bargaining agreements, drawn up internal regulations and conducted audits to identify areas of opportunity in the management of employment relations. He has resolved a wide variety of disputes before labor authorities, including claims for dismissal, summons, claims relating to representation, constitutional protection (“amparo”) lawsuits, appointments of beneficiaries, as well as negotiations and conciliations, both individual and collective.
Experience
Jaime Luis Mora Valadez is a senior associate in the Labor and Employment practice, with experience entirely in the employment area. He served as Labor Law Supervisor in the Litigation and Marine Law department of a major oil company. In this role he handled all labor, commercial and criminal litigation, as well as overseeing ordinary and extraordinary inspections by the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare. He also took charge of fulfilling administrative formalities to obtain permits relating to the company’s maritime activities. The experience acquired over the years has enabled him to find prompt solutions to problems arising from employment relations, and to identify areas of opportunity within labor relations management systems so as to avoid future labor risks. He also implemented employer substitutions on a large scale at a prominent national oil company. He has participated in various negotiations of collective bargaining agreements between leading companies in various industries at national level.
