Miguel Ángel Salas has been a Partner of the Labor and Employment Law Department of Garrigues since 1997, which he joined after working at the legal affairs department of one of the most representative labor unions in Spain.His professional experience in the area of labor and employment and social security law extends to all aspects and areas of expertise, including litigation in the labor jurisdiction.
He is a specialist in providing strategic advice on labor relations and human resources, with broad experience in corporate restructuring transactions, outsourcing of activities, mergers and acquisitions and the resulting harmonization of working conditions. In the area of collective bargaining, he has participated in and headed some of the most important restructuring (terminations and/or collective suspensions of contracts) transactions in the last few years in a wide variety of industries (automotive, food, chemical and pharmaceutical and sports associations) and manages and provides advice on other negotiation and internal flexibility processes such as collective labor agreements at company and industry level, material modification of collective conditions, equality plans and teleworking agreements.
He also provides advisory services on labor relations at an individual level (recruitment, focusing in particular on special relations - senior management - application of the disciplinary regime, etc.), steps before the labor inspection authorities and labor audit processes.
He is a regular speaker at specialist employment law seminars, conferences and courses and has collaborated with various universities and training centers on teaching activities associated with his area of expertise.
