
Veronica has more than 12 years of professional experience primarily focused on civil and commercial litigation and arbitration.
She is currently the vice president of the Arbitration Committee of ICC Mexico in Nuevo León and is Chair of the Rule of Law and Legality Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) Northeast Chapter in Mexico.
Experience
Verónica Esquivel is a principal associate in the Dispute Resolution: Litigation and Arbitration practice.
She holds an LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley and received her bachelor’s degree from Tecnológico de Monterrey, graduating with honors; she also completed a year abroad at the University of Essex. She is currently pursuing a Master's in Construction Management at the University of South California.
She also holds several diplomas and has participated in arbitration programs, including the ICC Mexico – UDEM Arbitration Diploma (2017), the Arbitration Academy in Paris (2018) and the Seminar for Arbitrators by the Arbitration Center of Mexico (CAM) (2021).
She is currently vice president of the Arbitration Committee of ICC Mexico in Nuevo Leon; she was formerly the regional coordinator for Latin America of the International Chamber of Commerce's Young Arbitrators Forum (ICC YAF) (2019-2021), and coordinator of ICC Mexico's Young Arbitrators Committee (2016-2019). Veronica has participated as a speaker in several national and international events related to arbitration and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. She has acted as an arbitrator in a number of editions of the UP-ICC Mexico Moot (2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020) and the ICC Vis Pre-Moot (2021), among others; she taught the classes “Persons and Juridical Acts” and “Law of Obligations II” at Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey, Monterrey Campus (2020-2022) and she currently teaches the Arbitration module of the Master of Business Law at Facultad Libre de Derecho de Monterrey. She has also taught modules as part of the faculty of the ICC Mexico Arbitration Diploma (2019-2022).
She is fluent in Spanish and English.
