Experience
Carlos is a principal associate in the Finance and Corporate Law Department of the firm. He has more than 10 years of experience advising all types of mergers and acquisitions, joint-ventures, strategic alliances, and private equity funds investments.
He has participated in finance projects advising borrowers, lenders and syndicated lenders, in local and international transactions, having participated in several projects of over US$10 billion dollars. Further, he has plenty of experience in the drafting and negotiation of all type of commercial and civil agreements, real estate and hospitality projects, transportation agreements, among others.
Carlos participated in the Latin Lawyer, Project Finance deal of the year awarded in 2017, and was included in the 2018 recommended lawyers of the Legal500 for the real estate practice.
Before joining Garrigues, Carlos worked for Mijares Angoitia Cortes y Fuentes, S.C., where he practiced in the corporate, transactional and finance departments of the firm.
Academic background
Carlos acquired his first law degree in the Facultad Libre de Derecho de Monterrey, and received an LL.M. degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2016, where he also acquire an additional certificate in Business Law.
