José Fernández-Rañada is a partner of the Corporate and M&A Department and head of the Life Sciences and Healthcare service. He specializes in corporate/commercial law and has extensive experience in company sale and purchase transactions, as well as mergers, spin-offs and business restructurings, having participated in some of the major deals performed in Spain in recent years. He is known for his work in international transactions and for his experience in advising on private equity matters. He works with major Spanish and foreign companies on a recurring basis and, in particular, acts as adviser to many of the companies in the Spanish life sciences sector. He currently belongs to the M&A practice in Madrid and is the partner in charge of the Life Sciences and Healthcare service.

He teaches on several programs at Centro de Estudios Garrigues, including the International Honors Program.
