Máximo Martín is a partner at G-advisory, Garrigues group, since 2011. He has 25 years of experience. Industrial Engineer by Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, graduated in 1997. All his professional experience is focused on consulting in the areas of energy and ESG, especially for financial entities, investors and companies operating in the mentioned areas: renewable energies (wind, solar photovoltaic, concentrated solar power, hydroelectric, biomass, biogas, etc.), biofuels, cogeneration, natural gas combined cycles, green hydrogen, electricity market, waste management, integrated water cycle, environmental and social due diligence, green or sustainable financing, socio-economic studies, climate change and sustainability projects, among others.

Máximo Martín is partner at G-advisory, a subsidiary of the Garrigues group dedicated to technical, economic and strategic consultancy, focusing mainly on the areas of renewable energies and ESG (environment, social & governance), where it is a market leader and a benchmark company in Spain, Portugal and Latin America.
He has 25 years of experience. He began his career in the environmental and quality management area of the consulting firm Arthur Andersen BC, in 1998, where, among other tasks, he developed innovative products such as a computer tool for environmental risk analysis that was used in the analysis of more than 100 audited companies.
After joining G-advisory in year 2000, he progressively focused his career on the electricity sector. He has managed and developed more than 300 projects related to renewable energies (wind, solar photovoltaic, concentrated solar power, hydroelectric, biomass, biogas, etc.), combined natural gas cycles, cogeneration, biofuels and waste-to-energy plants, in all their technology variants. He has also participated in innovative projects involving photovoltaic concentration, green hydrogen, energy storage systems, etc. He has developed projects in the technical and economic fields, for the private sector and public administrations, at national and international level. As an example, at international level, he has participated in or directed projects that have taken place in more than 20 different countries. His activity is particularly focused on Spain, Portugal and Latin America.
He has been partner at G-advisory since 2011. In addition to working in the energy sector, from Spain, he is the partner responsible for business development in the region of Mexico, Colombia, Central America and the Caribbean. In particular, he managed the opening of the G-advisory office in Mexico in 2016 and has been the partner responsible for G-advisory Mexico since then. He is also currently the partner in charge of ESG at G-advisory.
The types of work he leads can be classified into three categories:
1) Technical assistance to financial institutions. In project finance and sometimes through other structures. He has advised a large number of financial entities in various countries. Together with Garrigues' lawyers, it tops the lists of the main advisors in Ibero-America on renewable energy project finance.
2) Advice to investors, sponsors and technology companies. This corresponds respectively to (i) project sale and purchase transactions, (ii) technical and economic advice to sponsors for the development of their energy business and (iii) independent reports on technologies and their feasibility.
3) Other services in energy and ESG: energy efficiency, electricity market, waste management, integrated water cycle, environmental and social due diligence, green or sustainable financing, socio-economic studies, climate change and sustainability projects, among others.
Academic background
Degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, 1997.
Teaching activity
Regular attendee at assemblies and events of APPA (Renewable Energy Association) and AEE (Wind Energy Association), associations of which G-advisory is a member.
He is an organiser and speaker at seminars, conferences and events related to renewable energies and ESG. He has published several articles on these subjects.
