Garrigues is named European firm of the year for the third time
Garrigues has received the European Law Firm of the Year award from the international legal journal Legal Week for the third time. This is one of the most prestigious accolades in the legal sector, awarded to leading firms, teams and professionals which have stood out for their accomplishments in 2017 in the European legal market.
The British Legal Awards ceremony, held last night in London and organized by Legal Week and the City of London Law Society, was attended by over a thousand lawyers from international firms.
It is the third time Garrigues has been awarded this prize (having been named European firm of the year in 2011 and 2015). The British journal highlighted Garrigues’ expansion and growth in Latin America, where it now has own offices in five countries, as one of the factors to which most value was attributed. The judging panel also drew attention to the innovation projects being developed by the firm in areas such as artificial intelligence and document automation, and the strategic vision reflected in its focus on talent and commitment to corporate social responsibility. Finally, Legal Week valued Garrigues’ participation in major transactions taking place in the European market.
According to Fernando Vives, the firm's executive chairman, “This latest award confirms Garrigues’ stability and consistency and its capacity to generate added value in the legal services it provides to its clients”.
